Open Question: Am I a traitor to my gender if I'm OKAy with societies that allow men to hit women & vice versa?

I mean, I think that self defense as well as in cases of extreme disrespect, if men slap women, and women slap men, it's okay. Like, if a man spits on his wis & she slaps him, I feel that's okay on her part, since he started it. Likewise, if a woman REALLY CURSES OUT HER HUSBAND BADLY AND OFTEN, and one day, he got fed up and then slapped his wife, i think it's okay b/c she pushed his buttons too far. Is this treachery to my gender? I think that there's too much emphasis on feminism and such nonsense, that we forget to focus on trying to mend bad relationships. MOST countries of the world, be they China, Nigeria, Barbados, Colombia, etc, let men hit their women & vice versa and MANY women are happy with the system there. I feel the same way. As long as the hitting isn't all the time or over petty things and doesn't nvovle scars, bruising, etc, I think a slap or push by either gender isn't worth breaking up for.... Read More »
